Terms of Service
Last updated 1 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (the customer, including the organisation you act for) and [Operator legal name] (“we”, “us”), the operator of Burhan. By creating an account or using Burhan you agree to them.
1. What Burhan does
Burhan reads the product documentation you give it, drafts user journeys from it, and walks those journeys in a real browser against a web application you tell it to test, using test accounts you provide. It records the result of each run (screenshots, video, the application's API responses, and the AI's notes) so you can see what happened.
2. Your account
- You must give accurate information and keep your password and sign-in secure. You are responsible for everything done under your account and your workspace.
- You may invite other people to your workspace. They act on your behalf under these terms.
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement for the organisation you represent.
3. What you must only test
This is the most important rule. You may only point Burhan at applications, environments and accounts that you own or are explicitly authorised to test. In particular:
- Use staging or test environments. If you use a production environment, you confirm its owner has agreed and has given you a dedicated test account for it.
- Never give Burhan a real customer's login. Test accounts only.
- Do not use Burhan to probe, overload or attack any system, to circumvent access controls, or to collect other people's personal data.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks this rule, and you are responsible for any harm caused by testing something you were not allowed to test.
4. Your content and data
- You keep all rights to the documents you upload, the journeys (whether drafted by Burhan or written by you), the applications you test and the results. We claim no ownership of them.
- You give us the limited licence needed to run the service: to store and process your content, send relevant parts of it to our AI provider, and show it back to the people in your workspace.
- You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload documents you are not allowed to share with a third-party service.
- The Privacy Policy explains what we store, where, and for how long.
5. AI, accuracy and your judgement
- Burhan uses AI to draft journeys and to judge whether an expected result is visible. AI makes mistakes: it can miss things, misread a screen, or mark something as a failure that is not one. Results are evidence for a person to review, not a guarantee that software is correct or free of defects.
- You remain responsible for your own release decisions and for anything you file or report based on Burhan's results.
- If you add your own Anthropic API key, calls made with it are billed by Anthropic to you under Anthropic's terms, and you are responsible for that key and its limits.
6. Test runs change data
Some journeys create, edit or delete data in the application under test, as a real user would. Burhan tries to act only on what it created and to undo its own changes, and never presses a control you mark as a hard boundary. But it is a browser agent acting on your instructions in your environment: run it only on environments where such changes are acceptable, and keep a backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
7. Fees and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance, per billing period, through our payment provider. Prices are shown before you subscribe and on the billing page.
- Plans that include AI usage include a stated monthly amount; runs stop when it is used up until the next period or until you add your own key.
- You can cancel at any time from the billing page; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We do not refund partial periods unless the law requires it.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email; the new price applies from your next billing period.
- Trials and pilot arrangements are free for the period we state, and we may end them with notice.
8. Availability and changes
Burhan is an early product and we improve it continuously. We aim for it to be available but do not promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or remove features. We will try to give notice of changes that remove something you rely on.
9. Confidentiality and security
We treat your documents, test accounts and results as confidential, use them only to provide the service, and protect them with reasonable measures (encryption of credentials at rest, access limited to your workspace, encrypted transport). No system is perfectly secure; tell us at hello@useburhan.com as soon as you suspect a problem with your account.
10. Our intellectual property
Burhan itself, its software, method, prompts and designs belong to us. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing one.
11. Ending the agreement
- You can delete your account or workspace at any time from the app; your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your payment fails after reminders, or if we have to for legal or security reasons. Where reasonable we will warn you first and let you export your data.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows: Burhan is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost data; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of [Country], and its courts have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country says otherwise.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will email the workspace owner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Burhan after that means you accept the new terms.
